UC Summer - Why Not Brownstone
Hey Ultimate Chicago Northside Summer League Members,
I would appreciate the opportunity to hear from folks about why they are not taking advantage of the new opportunity with Brownstone as a northside venue offering free Pyramid beer and food discounts. Early in the season, I appreciate it was challenging getting to and from games, but it sounds like the quantity of numbers has low even the quality has been high (thx Mark and Steve).
The Ultimate Chicago goal was to provide more options to get people out after games to build our community, but unfortunately, it has not worked out that way. Are people going out somewhere else? I have been to Piece and it does not seem like folks are going there more than they already were. Location? Service? Hours of the kitchen?
Thanks for taking a moment as considering pulling the partnership before further risking the relationship as they have been reserving space and offering great deals for more than a month. I promise you are not hurting any feelings with your comments, so please be honest and direct as our goal has been to deliver what the players want.

I can't speak for the other
I can't speak for the other North Side division, but there are a lot of suburbanites and young guys (I know I have at least five guys that are <21) on my North side competitive team, MUCH more so than the South Side competitive. The locations of these games draw a lot of high school players from Evanston, New Trier, Jacobs, etc. So the number of people available to go to Brownstone may not be as large as we might initially think.
A core of my team was going to Brownstone pretty consistently early on. I happened to miss the last few weeks, but it was because of my own other plans, not because of Brownstone itself. I'm a huge fan of that place, think it's been really accommodating, and I try to promote it to my team after every Wednesday game.
It'd be a shame if this opportunity had to close down, as it IS a lot more practical location for some of us to reach relative to where we live than Piece.
